RainClear™ Two Stage Stormwater Filtration System is a highly effective storm water filtration system capable of treating large and sustained stormwater events. Each RainClear™ system is custom engineered for site specific needs and utilizes a unique 2 stage approach which includes a native plant biofiltration swale and filter bay with Earthlite™ Filter Media. This unique system is designed for treatment and removal of Turbidity (TSS), Chemicals (Nitrogen, Phosphorus), Heavy Metals (Copper, Zinc, Lead), and Oil & Gas (Petrochemicals).
The operation of the RainClear™ Stormwater Filtration System is straightforward. There are no moving parts and the patented filter media does not allow the captured contaminants to be released once absorbed into the Media.
Independent third party testing has demonstrated TSS removals of greater than 80% and the effective removal of additional pollutants including soluble and insoluble hydrocarbons (oil and grease), phosphorus and nitrogen, volatile organic compounds, PCBs, and various organically bound heavy metals (i.e. lead, copper, zinc, chromium). The performance of our filtration technology has recently been verified by the California Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Technology Certification Program for the removal of 90% – 95% of dissolved petroleum and oils.
RainClear™ system operates under gravitational and hydrodynamic forces with no moving parts or valves, which simplifies the treatment process. Its unique two stage green approach gives the architect or engineer the flexibility to design a stormwater system that combines superior stormwater treatment with a natural native plant swale.
Primary Treatment Stage: The native plant bioswale of the RainClear™ System is designed to filter any soluble and insoluble hydrocarbons, fine silts and clays, nutrients, and certain heavy metals thru a natural vegetated green bioswale.
Secondary Treatment Stage: The filter bay stage of the RainClear™ System incorporates Earthlite™ Filter Media, providing a highly effective means for the removal of coarse/fine sediment and free-floating oil and debris, increasing the systems filtration effectiveness. With the high conductivity of the Earthlite™ Filter Media, the RainClear™ system is capable of achieving high levels of treatment at large flow rates.
Monitoring equipment can be incorporated into our RainClear™ 2- Stage Stormwater Filtration Systems. These systems can be used to monitor the discharge of Stormwater from your site, keeping your site in compliance with the phase 2 NPDES requirements.
